Hello my beauties how are you all, I hope you are all well. this week's blog post is the MUA Efflorescence Palette which i got a few months back and wanted to share it with you all.
Its been quite some time since I shopped on The Makeup Academy Site and a few months ago I had a little browse and seen that there was a few new things that I just had to get my hands on. the first thing i saw was this palette and i needed because it had shimmer shadows, matte shadows and one foiled shadow. I have tried some of MUA's Palettes and i have never been disappointed so I just had to try this baby out which was for my mum but i just had to have it. This palette contains 10 eyeshadows for only £4 which is a total steal and so much cheaper than some other palette which have less shadows. MUA makeup is super cheap and really good for the price and all their shadows and highlighters are super pigmented. The packaging is the same as every other MUA palettes (the big ones ofc) only difference is that it's white and i think it looks super cute and t as a clear lid where you can see all the shadows and it also comes with a double ended sponge applicator which i threw out as i didn't need it and i just don't like sponge applicators.
Left to Right Top: Mesmeric, Tempt, Corrupt, Obsessed, Lavished and Fiery. Left to Right Bottom: Bewitched, Magnet, Exposed, Siren, Reveal, Captivate |
There is a mixture of shimmer and matte shadows which is perfect for daytime and nighttime looks. You can also you can have very subtle looks or very dramatic looks. All the names of the shadows really reflect the shadow colours themselves which is super easy to remember them. I'm very ocd about things so the fact that the shadows aren't colour coordinated is a really big thing for me and that's the only thing i think is a down for this palette. If it was up to me i would have the lightest colours to the left and go to the darkest colours to right.
Mesmeric: This is a very light almost sheer matte peachy pink shade. This is the perfect transition shade for all over the lid before adding dark shadows, super easy to blend and you can make it a tad bit darker if you have a lighter skin tone.
Tempt: A deep shimmer purple with a hint of very light pink sparkles. I thought this would be more pigmented than it is but i still lie the colour, i would use this for the all over lid colour if i was doing a dark purple smokey eye look. This is one of my faves.
Corrupt: is a dark dark black and in the pan it looks pitch black but when you but it on its more of a charcoal when you it on the lid or swatch it. its very easy to blend out into a light grey type colour and it's very buildable into a dark dark black however i wish it was already really dark.
Obsessed: A deep chocolate brown with silvery shimmers which is a good lid and a crease colour, super easy to blend and build up. It's a super pigmented because of the shimmers
Lavish: Is a very sheer matte light almost light skin shade colour, this like the Mesmeric shadow it's a a good transition shade.
Fiery: This is one of my favorite shadow and it reminds me of the Copper single shadow. Fiery is a deep metallic It's super, super pigmented and a little goes a long way because if you out too much especially if you have oily lids, it can transfer up to the top of your eyelid.
Bewitched: A nice medium bronze brown shade which is perfect as a crease shade. this is shimmery and very pigmented. This is a very shimmery taupe type colour which reminds me of Lavish.
Magnet: A medium to dark grey shade, again this is a matte shadow which is a perfect crease colour. Perfect for a smokey eye, summer blendable and buildable. This is a good daytime shadow.
Exposed: It's a light grey shade with silver shimmer. This shadow is very pigmented. a little of this goes a super long way and it it does have fall out which is the only bad thing.
Siren: this is a matte grey/ brown purple shade which is blendable but very light so you'd have to pack a lot of products if you wanted a deep matte purple.
Reveal: This is a light silvery champagne colour which great as a lid colour, in the inner corners and brown brow bone shade. it's super shimmery and pigmented. it is slightly chalky but you very easy to work with. super blendable and buildable but there is some fall out.
Captivate: this is a matte medium brown.this can also be used as a transition shade for darker skin tones.
If im honest im not too over the moon about this palette, the only colours that really excited me were fiery, tempt, and Bewitch.
Question: Matte or shimmers?
